I'll tell you just a little of what I know.
A city stretched long along the West Sea. Offshore, islands like Wonsando, Sapsido and Oeyeondo line up one after another!
In summer there's the Boryeong Mud Festival, and in September the Muchangpo Mystic Sea Road Festival.
It's not just the sea. Inland on Seongjusan there's a coal museum, and in Cheonbuk-myeon an oyster village.

Same address, Hongbo-ro 1061, as the oyster grill place Gaenmaeul. Rooms from couple rooms to VIP rooms.
Even the address says beach: Haesuyokjang 8-gil. From standard doubles to deluxe premiers.
On Cheonbyeon-bukgil in Daecheon-dong, a hotel by the stream, just like the name.
Right next to Daecheon Port. The units are named Rose of Sharon, Rose, Lily, Forsythia… a whole flower garden!
Every room is tatami. A ryokan experience in Boryeong!
They say some rooms look out on Daecheon Port. There's a big 35-pyeong room too.
On Gojam-gil in Sinheuk-dong. Both studios and deluxe rooms have beds.
Daecheonhang 1-gil, no. 17. On days you don't want a bed, there are ondol (floor) rooms too.
I can't tell if they're famous, either.
Just remember one signature dish and go!
I also put in two cafés for a cup of tea!
Chicken cream curry is the signature, and there's karaage salad too. Closes at 5 p.m. and closed Mondays.
An oyster house in oyster country, Cheonbuk. Steamed oysters & scallops, oyster pancakes, cold oyster soup! No days off.
A pufferfish place that opens at 7 a.m. Clear pufferfish soup for a hangover? There's a break in the afternoon.
Herbal duck soup with abalone is the signature. Last order is 8 p.m.!
Braised baendaengi is the signature, and there's braised hairtail too. Closed Mondays.
A pork cutlet place that's confident right from its name. Afternoon break, closed Sundays.
It's on Wonsando island. Brown cheese einspänner is the signature, and they say there's a sunset ade too.
A chicken restaurant in Ungcheon-eup. Dakgaejang is the signature. Closed 2nd and 4th Sundays.
Same address as Gaehwa Art Park. The signature is a waffle topped with flowers!
A milk café, just like the name. Farm cream latte and milk ice cream!

The address is 'Mud-ro 123.' You can smell the mud from the name alone, right? Open anytime.
An old fortress left standing in a seaside village in Ocheon-myeon. You can look around anytime.
A coal museum on the slopes of Seongjusan. You can even make a soap shaped like a mini coal briquette. Closed Mondays.
The Mystic Sea Road Festival is held here in September. Can you time it for the day the sea road opens?
Open only Fridays, weekends and public holidays, April to November. At the end of the Nampo Seawall, right next to Jukdo.
Same address as Lily's Café. They say there's a tour train too. Look around, then have a waffle!
Oyster country, just like the name. The oyster house Gaenmaeul is in Cheonbuk-myeon too.
Leaves twice a day, at 11:30 and 2:00. See Boryeong's sea from the deck!
Daecheon's markets open on days with a 3 or an 8, and Ungcheon Market on days with a 2 or a 7!
