You left your plans at home, right? Then you're all set.

Hi there!
I'm Dokko, your guide at Amudena.
I'm actually a burr seed, the kind that hitches a ride on passersby's clothes and travels.
This time, I'm sticking to you!
“Amudena” is Korean for “anywhere.” Wherever the wheel lands, that’s where you’re going.

Just four promises before we go!

Stay 1Eat 1Café 1See 1 Stay 1, Eat 3, Café 1, See 2...
calling things by number is handy.
Like "Call Stay 3!"

I'll tell you just a little of what I know.
The north side of Jeju Island, home to the airport and the port. It's the island's front door.
Leave downtown and seaside villages run on and on: Jocheon and Gujwa to the east, Aewol, Hallim and Hangyeong to the west.
In fall there's the Flatfish Festival, and in late fall the Olle Walking Festival!

💡TIP! Dates change every year. Quietly check with 1330 before you go.

I only picked places with phone numbers.
Whether there's a free room...
you'll have to call to find out!
💡TIP! Addresses are kept in Korean so you can show them to locals.
On Noyeon-ro. They say rooms run from standard to suite.
On Tapdong-ro. Standard to suite, and check-in is at 15:00.
On Noyeon-ro. Same street as Maison Glad Jeju!
In Nohyeong-dong. They say there are rooms like the Grand Suite and Corner Suite.

On Beonyeong-ro. Same address as Ecoland Theme Park!

I can't tell if they're famous, either.
Just remember one signature dish and go!
I also put in two cafés for a cup of tea!
A noodle shop on Dongbok-ro in Gujwa-eup. Raw fish noodles are the signature. Closed Tuesdays.
On Seohaean-ro in Yongdam. Abalone hot pot is the signature, and it opens at 8 in the morning!
A beef haejangguk (hangover soup) place. Opens at 6 a.m. and closes in the afternoon. Closed Thursdays.

A restaurant on Beonyeong-ro. Braised hairtail is the signature. Open only until 4 p.m., closed Sundays.
A café on Haemajihaean-ro. Gujwa carrot juice is the signature, and they say there's carrot cake too. Closed Wednesdays.
A café on Johamhaean-ro. Dolce latte is the signature, and they say it's never closed.
An unstaffed café on Gonae-ro in Aewol-eup. They say there are teas like peppermint and chamomile.

I picked just 8 spots.
We'll meet the rest on the road.

A beach on the Hallim-eup coast. Open whenever you go.

A path along the sea at Gwakji-ri, Aewol-eup. Always open, no days off.

An oreum (volcanic hill) in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup. Climb it anytime.

A nutmeg-yew forest in Gujwa-eup. No days off, but last entry is at 17:00.

A museum of haenyeo (women divers) stories in Gujwa-eup. Closed Mondays. The noodle shop Haenyeochon is in Gujwa-eup too!

A seaside rock in Yongdam-dong. You can see it anytime.

The outdoor park is always open. The memorial hall is closed on the 1st and 3rd Mondays.

A museum in Geonip-dong. Closed Mondays, last entry at 17:30.

Markets are the best way to see a town.
Days with 2 or 7: Jeju Folk 5-Day Market.
4 or 9: Hallim.
5 or 10: Sehwa!
💡TIP! There may be markets not listed here. Ask a local, "여기 장 언제 서요? (yeo-gi jang eon-je seo-yo?)"

The answers aren't in this book.
The locals know the real ones.
💡TIP! Show the Korean sentence as is, or read it out loud.

Keep money talk tidy!
